At Lifeway Programs, Inc., our story is one of calling, compassion, and community.

What began as a heartfelt vision in the heart of our founder, Mayelin Lima, LCSW, has become a life-giving, faith-based organization that continues to empower individuals and families across South Florida and beyond. From humble beginnings, Lifeway Programs has grown into a trusted source of professional mental health support, spiritual encouragement, and organizational development.

How It All Began

In the early 2000s, Mayelin Lima was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working in the trenches of South Florida’s healthcare and behavioral systems. From residential facilities and outpatient clinics to re-entry programs and infant mental health initiatives, she served on the front lines—always asking the deeper questions:

“How can we provide care that heals not just the mind, but the heart?”
“What would happen if faith and professionalism truly worked hand in hand?”

Out of this burden, Lifeway Programs was born—a nonprofit initiative built not only to treat symptoms, but to walk with people through their deepest valleys toward their highest potential.

Founded on Experience. Fueled by Purpose.

Officially launched with more than 15 years of clinical experience behind her, Mayelin set out to build an organization where people feel seen, heard, and uplifted—no matter their background, trauma, or diagnosis.

From the beginning, Lifeway Programs was designed to be:

• Clinically excellent, meeting state and federal standards with integrity and structure
• Spiritually grounded, drawing strength from Isaiah 40:31 and the belief that every individual can soar on wings like eagles
• Community-oriented, connecting people with both personal and public resources to build resilient support systems
• Multicultural and multilingual, offering care in both English and Spanish to serve the rich diversity of our communities
  
  

Our Growth Over the Years

Since its founding, Lifeway Programs has expanded in both reach and impact:

• 📍 Expanded Programs: From family therapy and youth services to leadership development and organizational wellness workshops
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Served Hundreds of Families through faith-based counseling and educational events
• 🕊️ Partnered with Churches, Schools, and Public Agencies to create wraparound support systems for lasting change
